The usta has finalized its 2007-2008 Volunteer Council Staff with individual terms also set to start on January 1. USTA list of the prominent Council and Committee chairpersons are listed here (with those hailing from the Missouri Valley in bold)

Major Rule Changes for 2008 :usta tennis

1. Teams which are comprised of players from more than one local area must play all rostered players a minimum of one match to qualify the team to advance.

2. Players who return to league play after a 3 or more year absence must self-rate no lower than their previous NTRP rating. Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification.

3. Mixed Doubles League requires a player to play a minimum of 3 matches through Sectionals to be eligible at Nationals. Defaults do not count toward eligibility.

4.Any player may request up to two Line Assistants to stand by each net post to assist in line calls. the duties of the Line Assistant are restricted to confirming or over-ruling line calls and may do so when asked by a player on the court. Line Assistants cannot call foot faults. Line Assistants make line calls.

5. The fee to file a Local League grievance is $50. The Local League appeal fee is $20.

6. Appeals must be filed within 24 hours from notification of the grievance decision.
